Monitoring the London Plan
Why do we produce an AMR?
The AMR is the most important document for assessing the effectiveness of the London Plan and its policies. Section 346 of the Greater London Authority (GLA) Act 1999 places a duty on the Mayor to monitor the implementation of the Mayor’s London Plan.
Monitoring the London Plan 2021
The London Plan was published in March 2021.It is monitored using the framework approved by the Mayor on 31 May 2022 (Mayoral Decision MD2978).This framework will be periodically reviewed and adjusted for future AMRs.
The nineteenth AMR was the first AMR for the London Plan 2021.
KPIs
The Key Performance Indicators, or KPIs, are defined in chapter 12 of the London Plan. They monitor key trends, rather than individually monitoring all of the policies which would not be achievable or desirable.
As well as the KPIs, the AMR includes additional data and narrative about how the plan is performing against the Good Growth objectives and social, environmental and economic impacts as well as reporting any unanticipated equalities impacts.
